Discover the local birds with the French Bird Protection League (LPO)

every day self-guided trail for groups upon request

There’s a nature trail on the campsite, created by the LPO (Bird Protection League) with a QR code to flash with your telephone at each stage. A way for holidaymakers to learn more about the species of birds that can be found here. An information booklet is also available. At the end of the trail, holidaymakers can test their knowledge with a short quiz.

Come and meet the bees with beekeeper Coraline

At least once a month

Coraline and her “Demois’Ailes” take holidaymakers on a journey into their fascinating world. To find out all there is to know about bees and honey! Followed by an opportunity to taste this precious golden nectar. If you’re lucky, Coraline might just let you put on her beekeeper’s suit and taste the honey straight from the hive.

Nature Day

Les Saules campsite organises a Nature Day so that holidaymakers and local organisations (establishments for the disabled, members of the French Bird Protection League (LPO), leisure centres, etc.) can come and take part in activities on the theme of the preservation of biodiversity:

- discover LPO biodiversity on a walk around the campsite

- workshops for children: observe, listen and draw bird species

- a workshop on recycling and compost with local organisation for waste management, Val Eco.

- Sologne Nature Environnement will demonstrate how to make organic cosmetics with ingredients found on the campsite.

- Loisir Loire Valley: a barefoot trail - Institute for the disabled: how to make mint cordial with ingredients found on the campsite

You are next to the most beautiful Châteaux of the Loire: Cheverny, Chambord, Blois and Chaumont…. Take a stroll around the Royal city of Blois and discover the wild Loire river, classified by UNESCO. From the campsite there is a large choice of cycle paths which take you around the Châteaux.

    Friendly efficient staff. Facilities first class for our needs. Very impressed compared to other places we have stayed. looking forward to returning.

    We received a friendly welcome from the Manager Lawrence and chose our own pitch which was spacious and gave us a mix of sunshine & shade.
    The pools were excellent and kept very clean, as were the toilets and showers.
    We cycled routes 4 & 5 and visited the lovely Chateau Cheverny during our visit. We would recommend taking food and water on walking/cycling excursions as Restaurants/cafes were scarce/closed in this area in mid May.
