Meeting the miller

The Cougnaguet mill is where it all happens. Hubert is waiting there for you; a remarkable man whose mill is his life. He explains the workings of his flour mill, a listed historical monument, as though it’s a new discovery for him every time. You’ll never forget his accent - he rolls his syllables with a childlike smile. You’ll be fascinated by his demonstration. You’ll also leave with flour from the valley!

And if you come at the right time, you’re sure to be able to try the miller’s plum confection!

Hike: Des Rochers et des Hommes (Rocks and People)

A lovely walk starting at the campsite with an excellent view of the Dordogne valley. This route, with shaded paths, runs along the cliff. Children will definitely want to go and hide in the caves... Like our grandfather did during the war! You can visit the magnificent village church - we’ll give you the hiding place for the key at reception! At the highest point of the walk, the valley separating the two plateaus of the Causse de Martel and the Causse de Gramat comes into full view.

The Dordogne valley is full of authenticity and heritage. You just need to follow the winding path of the river to discover the region’s wealth of architecture.
