Castels moments to experience at Castel Camping Les Bois du Bardelet
A region with a lot to discover
Take in the wonders of this region and go for a family day out to one of the regional parks, take a tour of the Châteaux of the Loire or explore the ancient medieval towns. The holidays are also about tasting the local delights of the region so why not go to a wine cellar or one of the many wine museums.

The fish in the lake are very healthy but unfortunatley that is the only positive thing we can say about this camp site, we nearly didn't get to find this out as the assistant at reception tried to grossly overcharge us to fish it.
Sad to say this camp site really doesn't deserve the 5 stars that it holds, dirty, poorly run, rude staff, facilities definitely over hyped in the blurb never have we felt so let down by a Castels site. We were so disappointed we even tried to find another site to stay on, but given it was the height of the season we were unable to find one available.
My advice is give this site a miss.
Clean toilets and shower
Pitch was rough and stoney
Location, private sanitary
Accessability difficult, pitches too close and felt crowded. Restaurant is limited and very confused needs organisation. Checkin was difficult not enough space for vehicles arriving staff limited and struggling to deal with the number of arrivals
Pitch was great, swimming pool and lake areas were fab.
The bar was severely lacking in beverages. The reception staff were a little unhelpful on check-in but that didn't really matter to us, but could others. The site itself looks a little shabby, with many areas untended. The worst is on check-out. A scam was going on with the staff - the final check of facilities on your pitch/accommodation was done so you would believe that your deposit would be refunded. But they would always find 'something' amiss - all our group (5 familys) suffered this and it took an argument to get our deposit fully refunded - BE AWARE!!
The site was nice, but tired, toilet blocks were generally clean, but are due a refurb. In my opinion
We had to wait an hour and a half to get onto our pitch, in the car in 32deg heat, whilst they ‘cleaned the pitch’ we had a premium pitch, which included a brick built shed with chairs, table, bbq, parasol and fridge, the only cleaning needed was the fridge and bbq, 1 1/2 hrs? Surely that could have been done as we erected our tent? The pool was lovely, clean but cold, couldn’t spend too long in, but plenty of loungers and chairs. There is also an indoor pool, but we didn’t use it. The 70€ deposit seemed distrustful! Restaurant took well over an hour for a burger and salad, not good enough.
Really enjoyable stop over
