The culinary specialities of Ardèche

If you decide to spend your holidays in the beautiful Ardèche region, we highly recommend two campsites Les Castels Le Domaine de Sévenier.

Ardèche is proud of its reputation as the largest producer of chestnuts in France. This AOC, (protected designations of origin) has existed since 2006.

With more than 5000 tons of chestnuts produced per year, our article of the day adds  to this rich culture with 3 delicious recipes. 3 recipes which make up an entire meal : starter, main course and dessert.

Le cousina

It is a delicious soup based on the chestnuts of Ardèche accompanied by a poultry broth, nutmeg and crème fraiche (sour cream).

You will find this speciality in numerous restaurants around the region.

Fricassée de dinde à l’ardéchoise

Poultry and chestnuts make wonderful companions ! This typical dish is accompanied by crème fraiche and thinly sliced mushrooms.

Le gâteau ardéchois

To complete this meal using our theme you will find nothin better than a Ardèchois gâteau, a delicious cake made up of chestnut flour which is perfect for those who are gluten intolerant, almond powder, brown sugar, cream of sweet chestnut and plus some glace chestnuts.

We have a preference for this cake which can be eaten at any time of the day to satisfy hunger craving whilst on holidays 🙂
